Designing your dream landscape
STEP ONE: CONSULTATION
This is the very beginning of your design process! But, this also helps to determine if we are the right fit for you, and you are the right fit for us! During the consultation phase, we gain:
- Your basic needs, address, set up an appointment to meet and a plot plan if available
STEP TWO: ESTIMATE, PROPOSAL & CONTRACT
After we have met on site or via zoom, I draft a proposal of the cost of the design and if you would like to move forward, this gets signed and payment is then due. Payment can be made via online (credit, debit, or afterpay available) or by check. Once payment and contract are complete, your design is moved to my schedule.
The first conceptual design is typically done within 2-3 weeks (depending on the time of year).
STEP THREE: ON SITE REVIEW, MEASURING/GRADE VERIFICATION
One of the most important steps of any landscape design is the site analysis which looks at the grounds and the overall conditions at your residence. This includes measuring the space, grade, sun exposure, existing conditions, utilities (gas, electrical), and drainage. These are all factors that go into your design!
STEP FOUR: DESIGN & CREATION BOARD - CONCEPTUAL
Now the fun begins! With your needs, wants and ideas, plus the on site review, I can now draft a conceptual design. This is the rough draft part that gets is started. Typically, I send a conceptual design via email, give you time to review and make a list of changes or edits and send them back to me. Another option is to schedule a one on one zoom design edit call where I edit the conceptual plan with you looking at it live. Once you are happy with the conceptual design, we move to the master design.
STEP FIVE: MASTER DESIGN PRESENTATION
This is your final design! This is sent via email for you to review and we are good to go! You can now use this to give to other companies for installation and or bidding (so they are bidding the same design and you can get a true apple to apple comparison), and this is also what the HOA would approve if needed.
STEP SIX: LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION & CONSTRUCTION
Being a landscape designer, I have built several partnerships with other companies that do installations of my designs and I workclosely onsite with. If you would like to get an installation bid from me, please let me know and we can work together for your entire project!

Why do I need a landscape design?
Having a design is the very beginning of your project, just like building a house. You can't build anything without a plan to follow! The design is the plan and is needed for any installation process, submitting to HOA for approval to make sure guidelines are met and necessary for everyone to see the big picture, stay on target and cohesive. This is also a must have for any crew to follow so your landscape turns out how it needs (quantity, locations, etc).
How long does it take to get my design done from start to finish?
I am generally out 2-3 weeks once we get started and you have submitted payment and signed contract for the conceptual design. Once the conceptual design is good, the master design is typically done within a week.
Can I hire you to do the installation?
YES! I work closely with multiple contractors to help install my designs and help to manage the entire process!
What if I already have a design and I just want bids on that?
If you already have a design, I can help get bids from my partnership companies for you!
How are we charged?
My design fee is based off an hourly rate which includes site reviews, design time, revisions, communications with you.
I live in Sterling Ranch, what does the design include?
For Sterling Ranch, I provide the landscape design, irrigation design, water calculation design and I fill out your application for you - you just need to submit it to the HOA/CAB (I can not submit it for you).
